Investigating the effects of different types of vegetables on heart health

Are you interested in helping to understand which vegetables are the best to eat for good heart health?

Edith Cowan University Researchers are undertaking a clinical trial investigating the effects of eating different types of vegetables on heart health. They want to involve two members of the community who are interested in the effect diet has on good heart health.

About the project/vacancy

Despite the widespread knowledge of the health benefits of vegetables, over 90% of Australian adults do not eat enough vegetables. Evidence from previous studies suggests specific vegetables ( cruciferous vegetables ) such as broccoli, cabbage and brussel sprouts are best to help protect you against heart disease. Further studies are now needed to establish how these vegetables actually benefit heart health.

It is hoped through understanding whether an increase in eating these types of vegetables will improve heart health; that this can lead to greater awareness and influence eating habits of the general community.
